The following are the simple steps of information I need from you to get a design quote from me for free.
2. Take many nice clear digital photos. Just stand with your back to all walls about every 15-25 foot sections, take 2-3 photos from that spot in different directions showing as far across all ceilings as possible. I ignore what’s on the floors and not interested in the floor unless you need to show me drains. Don’t worry about any messes, I’ve seen thousands of basements in the last 20 plus years. Ceilings and walls mostly and please hold cell phones and cameras so the image is landscaped to see more left to right. I’m not a TikTok viewer, lol. Close ups don’t help if I don’t know where you took it. NOTE: you can always use photos of documents and plans to send me if you don’t have a scanner. If you need to know more about how to take photos so I can see well, visit this link; https://thebasementdesigner.com/taking-photos-sending/
3. I need a sketch, drawing, plan with dimensions of all walls, locations of post, stairs, windows, drains and anything else that can’t be moved. I’ll put your measurements and other information on my CAD drawing software making the first footprint and then send that back to you as homework in case anything is missing that I might still need, ok? Basically, we need to map out your existing space “as is”. Lastly and part of the first step; see the following 3D graphic view examples to compare which level of design to pick and indicate this on the wish list you downloaded and saved. See “Design Level” in bottom right corner of each slide below. Notice that features are added to each 3D rendering as the slides change from A-E as each “Design Level” changes! Look in the far room in the 3D rendering as well as it changes each time. The white glowing ceiling shows LED rope lighting and crown molding is added in “Design Level” C and above. In short; the higher the “Design Level” choice made, the more time I can put into the design.
The slide show above changes with each level of design features noted in the bottom right corner. From Very Basic Design to the works.
Basements Finishing can be done in different Design Levels or degree of finish and or how basic the finish is to how fancy, like the “WOW effect” Desired also known as the level of complication. You’ll need to indicate to me how basic to how fancy you want the design by choosing a “Design Level”. Very similar to picking Good/Better/Best or on a scale of 1 to 5 with 1 or “A” being simple/basic (no “WOW”) as in plain Jane up to 5 or “E” being extremely fancy features with many upgraded features. Level of architectural features added into the design which is how much more of my time is used on the design. The “Design Level” controls my rate per square foot. My minimum design fee is $800.00 no matter how small the space is or the design level choice made. The quote is free if I have this choice made on the wish list, measurements of any type and photos of the space.
Any other type of custom design work will be personally quoted out. If you still need more design level examples to look over with detailed descriptions, click this blue link to design levels. Also, I have many examples from designs at this link at my OneDrive and feel free to browse around and see the difference between each design level and clients taste.
If you remind me, I’ll send you over 240 references of prior clients that did this process through email you can call and chat with about my cool email design service.
